UVM Sprint Distance Triathlon - Sunday April 22, 2007

500 yd swim, 10.5 mile bike, 5K run

April 22, 2007 Race Results

Why not Tri? This sprint distance triathlon is an excellent event for the Rookie or Veteran Racer.

All abilities are welcome!

Swim

The swim will be 500 yds (10 times down and back) and will be held at the UVM indoor pool. The swim starts will begin at 7:00 AM (first come, first swim) and will conclude at 8:40 PM. Patrick Gym will open at 6:40 AM. Participants will have access to locker rooms to dry off and prepare for the bike/run portion of the race.

Bike

The bike course is 10.5 mile out and back paved road loop that will start and finish just outside of the Campus Recration lobby (southern most entrance of the PFG facility - immediately below the glass/fitness center overhang). The race will have a mass start (everyone at once) at 9:00 AM. Riders will head south on Spear Street, take a left to head east on Swift Street, take a right to head south on Dorset Street, take a right to head west on Barstow Rd and take a final right to head back north to UVM on Spear Street.

Run

The run course is the 5K UVM Jogger's Loop (partial pavement, partial trial). Racers will park their bikes at the transition area and take off running as soon as they finish the bike loop. The Jogger's Loop heads south on the Burlington bike path, loops through the Burlington County Club Golf Course, and heads back to UVM on the Burlington bike path.

$20 - Student Affiliation
$30 - Faculty/Staff/Member Affiliation
$35 - Community/Alumni (non members)

Registration

All registrations must be completed on line by the registration deadline: Monday, April 16 at 11:59 PM Web Registration

Web Registration Extended until Friday 4/20 at 3:00 PM!

If room allows, on site same day registration will be permitted for an additional $5.00.

Participation waiver required. Please print and hand in when you pick up your race packet.

Weather Cancellation

UVM reserves the authority and discreation to cancel the race due to weather conditions and or safety issues. In the event of a cancellation, all registered participants will be emailed a notice prior to 6AM on Sunday, April 22. Full refunds will be awarded in the event of a weather cancellation.

Refunds

No refunds will be awarded except in the event of a weather cancellation.
