CPR & First Aid Classes | Aquatics Courses

Obtain your CPR and first aid, water safety instructor or lifeguarding at UVM! All courses are located on the UVM Athletic Campus and taught by a qualified American Heart Association (CPR, First Aid) and American Red Cross (WSI and Lifeguarding) instructors!


CPR & First Aid Courses

American Heart Association HeartSaver Course - Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and First Aid Certification

The American Heart Association Heartsaver class includes certification in adult, child and infant CPR, AED, and first aid. Individuals who are required to obtain certification as a requirement of their employment should confirm with their supervisor that this course meets the requirement (recommended for health care providers) prior to registering for this class.

Certification cards will be ready for pick up at the main Campus Recreation office (by Fitness Center entrance) within 2-3 weeks of the successful completion of a class.

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Course - Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, Basic Life Support and Resusitation Certification

This course is for individuals in the health care profession who are required to obtain certification for their job (e.g., LNAs, UVM Rescue, etc).

Certification cards will be ready for pick up at the main Campus Recreation office (by Fitness Center entrance) within 2-3 weeks of the successful completion of a class.

Spring 2015 - AHA Healthcare Provider Basic Life (BLS) Support Course

Aquatics Courses

Lifeguarding Re-Certification Course (American Red Cross)

A multi-day lifeguard recertification course is offered each year during the spring semester.

  • Participants must have a certification that did not expire prior to December 2014.
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) participants in order for course to avoid cancellation.
PEAC Certification Courses

The following classes are offered as PEAC 1-credit academic classes during the spring semester to UVM students only.
