Building Monitor
General Responsibilities:
Campus Recreation Building Monitors oversee activities happening in several areas of the PFG Athletic Complex including: the fitness center, group exercise rooms, gutterson rink, basketball and tennis courts.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist customers
- Check UVM ID's
- Enforce building policies
- Monitor safety of patrons
- Provide emergency assistance as necessary

Office Assistant
General Responsibilities:
An Office Assistant in the Campus Recreation Department helps the professional staff with daily office tasks.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Answering telephones
- Photocopying
- Mail delivery
- Monitoring the desk area
- Cash register use
- Enforce building policies
HOURS: Weekend and evening hours are available.

Building Supervisor
General Responsibilities:
A Campus Recreation Building Supervisor monitors the entire PFG Facility and is a first responder to any unusual situations that may arise. All Facility Supervisors will be CPR, First Aid, and AED Certified through the American Red Cross as part of their employment training.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Peer supervision
- Handling conflict/other difficult situations
- Ensure customer safety
- Other duties as assigned

Fitness Facility Specialist
General Responsibilities:
Assist the Assistant Director of Operations with management of fitness facilities including the Gucciardi Fitness Center, Gutterson Multi Purpose Room, Dance Studio, and upper level track.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, clean and perform minor repairs on fitness equipment such as treadmills, cycles, climbers, ellipticals, and resistance training equipment.
- Communicate with the Fitness Center Attendants
- Monitor compliance with cleaning/inspection duties
- Other duties as assigned
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: The Specialist will learn several aspects regarding
the management of a busy and large fitness facility.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have interest in working with tools and a desire to learn more about various fitness equipment. Responsible and detail oriented individuals are important. Experience with minor repairs and working knowledge of basic tools preferred.

Fitness Programs
Group Fitness Instructor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Instruct group fitness classes in a fun, motivating, effective, safe, and organized manner. Attend pre-scheduled meetings/training. Early morning, lunch time, evening and weekend hours available. Possible class formats are unlimited and include traditional, cardio (kickboxing, step), mind/body (yoga, pilates), strength, Spinning, dance, and sport conditioning formats. We are looking for charismatic, outgoing individuals who have passion for fitness and their participant’s experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Group Fitness Certification by ACE, AFAA, NETA and work experience preferred but not necessary - we will train and mentor ideal candidates (especially UVM students). Must have current CPR & AED certification. Desire to learn and work as part of a team is essential. Personal Trainer
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct one-on-one physiological and functional assessments with clients, develop SMART goals, design individualized fitness programs, and attend scheduled meetings/training. Early morning, daytime, weekend, and evening hours available.
REQUIREMENTS: National fitness certification in Personal Training by ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NASM, or AFAA and previous experience preferred. Must have current CPR & AED certification. UVM Iron Cat's in training are welcome to apply. Desire to learn and work as part of a team is essential. Fitness Assistant (Studio Assistant & ID Checker) - WORK STUDY REQUIRED
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Assistant Director of Fitness with administrative components of group fitness and personal training program. Assist the Group Fitness Instructors with set up / break down of class and participation counts. Check ID's before participants enter group fitness classes and process day passes. Attend all staff meetings and trainings. This is an hourly, part-time position.
REQUIREMENTS: Preference will be given to students pursuing a personal training and/or group fitness certification. Previous experience in administrative duties and staff supervision recommended. Preferably CPR, AED and First Aid certified. Some evening and weekend hours may be necessary. Desire to learn and work as part of a team is essential. Intramural Sports Programming
Intramural Sports Official
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Officiate Intramural Sports. No officiating experience necessary!! Training is provided for all of our sports; however prior experience participating in sports is helpful. We encourage individuals to officiate multiple sports (e.g., dodgeball, flag football, soccer, broomball (must skate), ice hockey (must skate), basketball, volleyball, kickball) throughout the year. Students who officiate intramural sports may also, and are encouraged to, participate in the intramural sports program.
REQUIREMENTS: General knowledge and interest in a variety of sports and activities. Attend scheduled meetings/trainings. Available weeknights and some weekends as necessary.
Work-Study is highly encouraged but not required.

Intramural Sports Score Keeper
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep score at all intramural sports events, assist in signing in players, checking student iincluding, and may be required to do some intramural sports office duties that are similiar to the IOA position.
REQUIREMENTS: Will train, no experience necessary. Shifts are scheduled in the evenings for weekdays and some weekends.. Ideal candidate must be detail oriented and dependable.

Intramural Sports Supervisor
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the training of officials & new supervisors. Responsible for on-site risk management and enforcement of all departmental policies. Supervise officials and provide on-going constructive feedback for improvement.
REQUIREMENTS: Recommended that a Supervisor has officiated at least one semester and more than one sport with the IM program. Attend scheduled meetings/trainings. Available weeknights and some weekends as necessary.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach CPR and first aid classes to Campus Recreation part-time staff and to the general public throughout the academic year. Must be available evenings and weekends.
REQUIREMENTS: American Red Cross CPR and first aid instructor certification (required); American Red Cross lifeguard instructor certification (preferred); minimum two years of teaching experience.

Marketing Assistant

A Campus Recreation Marketing Assistant works with the Assistant Director of Marketing with special projects associated with programs and goals. Successful candidates will have special interest in marketing, public relations, advertising, and/or related fields with good office, organizational, and communication skills.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Promote programs
- Maintain building signage
- Assist and attend special events
- Create new ways to reach target audiences for programs, events, and sponsorship opportunities, etc.
ADDITIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: Special projects built around student's interests with creative autonomy available.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimal background in marketing or related fields. Special interest in marketing, public relations, advertising, and/or related fields with good office, organizational, and communication skills. Large amount of flexibility and autonomy.

Graphic Designer
General Responsibilities:
A Campus Recreation Graphic Designer will work with the photographer and marketing staff to produce print/web marketing materials. Successful candidates should have basic experience in Adobe software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. Software and equipment will be provided during designated office hours.

Adventure Day Camp Staff
All Staff Positions:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety and well-being of camp participants,
plan, organize, facilitate camp activities that are age appropriate, implement
policies and procedures of the Adventure Day Camp Manual and Campus Recreation,
attend all staff meetings, be available in the summer (mid-June to early August,
M-F, 8am-4:30pm).
