Mr. Joseph Bartlett
Research Technician
Joe Bartlett graduated from the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (The University of Vermont) this past May with an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and a focus in Water Resources. His primary interest is stream ecology and the use of macroinvertebrates (stream insects) for assessing stream health.
Joe is the recipient of several prestigious UVM awards:
The Holcomb Natural
Resource Prize for Outstanding Achievement in the Study of Natural Resources,
Lola Aiken Award in Natural Resources,
Al McIntosh Award for Outstanding Achievement in Environmental Sciences
He graduated Summa Cum Laude in May, 2004

Joe spent last summer working above the arctic circle at the Toolik Long Term Ecosystem Research Station researching the effects of global warming on fish and macroinvertebrates in an arctic river. His undergraduate thesis: Macroinvertebrate Community Resilience in Undeveloped and AgriculturallyImpaired Catchments Following a Simulated Hydrologic Disturbance
