This calendar is maintained by the SPARC to help people find out what is happening in our area. It can also serve as a way of groups avoiding conflicts when planning events. Please submit announcements to sparc@zoo.uvm.edu

  • Non-violence/Civil Disobedience Training for the Boston Rally on Saturday, March 11th at Cook Commons in the Billings Student Center at UVM in Burlington from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It will include training in non-violent civil disobediance and legal issues.
  • "Globalization after Seattle: The View from Haiti" Camille Chalmers, veteran leader of Haiti's pro-democracy movement, Chief of Staff to former President Jean Bertrand Aristide, leader of PAPDA, a coalition of Haitian union and peasant organizations. Wednesday, March 22, 7 p.m. Farrell Room, St. Edmunds Hall, St Michael's College (In French, with English translation)
  • Biodevastation Conference in Boston on March 24-25.
  • Biodevastation 2000 Rally in Boston on March 26. For more information contact: nerage@sover.net
  • Youth Enviromental Summit (YES 2000) organized by and for high school students all day Monday, March 27th in Fairlee, Vermont.   • Non-violence/Civil Disobedience Training for Washington, D.C., demonstration against the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Saturday, April 1st at Cook Commons in the Billings Student Center at UVM in Burlington from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It will include training in non-violent civil disobediance, legal issues, police scenarios, etc. Please come, if you plan to go to D.C.
  • FAST 2000 to close the School of the Americas--a nationwide protest beginning April 6th. See School of the Americans Watch fast page for more details.
  • Anti-IMF and World Bank Demonstration in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, April 16th. See: www.a16.org
