Areas
My primary research interests are the psychopathology and treatment of adult mood disorders, including:

• cognitive-behavioral models of depression onset, maintenance, and recurrence.
• cognitive-behavioral therapy for depression.
• subtypes of recurrent depression including seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and menstrual distress.
• secondary research interests in the role of the menstrual cycle in the onset and maintenance of anxiety in women.

Rohan Laboratory
The Rohan Laboratory is currently conducting a 5-year randomized clinical trial, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, in which 160 community adults with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) will be treated with either our novel SAD-tailored cognitive-behavioral therapy or with standard light therapy and followed over 2 years.
