My primary research interest is the origins and outcomes of parent-child relations in early childhood.

Specific areas include:

  • identifying predictors of maternal and paternal sensitivity with an emphasis on parents' emotional responses to infant cues.
  • examining the intergenerational transmission of fathers' emotion relevant parenting practices with an emphasis on identifying factors that contribute to discontinuity.
  • factors associated with effective reintegration of military fathers: pre, during and post deployment stages.
