Research Interests
My research focuses on psychological and behavioral factors that affect health behaviors and outcomes. Currently, I am investigating the following:

  • mechanisms that affect tobacco cessation success among individuals with psychological vulnerabilities (e.g., anxiety disorders) and chronic illnesses (e.g., HIV)
  • how people cope with chronic illness and illness-related stigma
  • a physical and psychological rehabilitation model for cancer survivors
  • social and psychological factors that contribute to obesity and obesity-related stigma
