Research Interests
My research focuses on psychological factors and mechanisms that affect health behaviors and outcomes. Currently, I am investigating the following:
- mechanisms that affect tobacco cessation success among individuals with psychological vulnerabilities (e.g., anxiety disorders) and chronic illnesses (e.g., HIV)
- interventions to increase tobacco cessation success among vulnerable populations
- how people cope with chronic illness and illness-related stigma
- psychological and physical symptoms of breast cancer survivors
- a rehabilitation model for breast cancer survivors
- social and psychological factors that contribute to obesity and obesity-related stigma
