Aya Inouye (Donald Forgays Outstanding Senior Award)
Aya has a distinguished GPA of 4.0 and is conducting an honors thesis examining gender differences in aggression and Callous-Unemotional traits, supervised by Dr. Timothy Stickle. She is also vice-president of Psi Chi, the Psychology Honorary Society.
Elizabeth Kuttler (Heinz Ansbacher Award)
Liz has conducted an honors thesis examining the parental and self-concept factors that predict eating behavior in college students, supervised by Dr. Heather Bouchey. She has done outstanding work also with Dr. Susan Crockenberg on the UVM Baby Study and with Dr. Rex Forehand on the Raising Healthy Children Project.
Christopher Dillon (John Dewey Award)
Chris has conducted an honors thesis examining the long-term impact of alcohol exposure during early development, supervised by Dr. John Green. He received a HELIX summer internship grant to support this technically challenging work.
Livia Shapiro (George Albee Award)
Livia worked for two years on the "Rural Ecology and Coping with HIV Stigma" project with Dr. Sondra Solomon, and has developed a model of the ways individuals construct their day-to-day experience using mindfulness, based on her experience as a yoga teacher. She exhibits a commitment to learning, mindful concern for her community, and a deep appreciation for cultural competence.
