Burlington was enacted as a city with an act of
Legislature in 1864, and has since been separated into the surrounding
towns of Williston and South Burlington. The Church Street Marketplace
is the center of the community; it contains numerous cafe's, specialty
shops, restaurants, and bars. The waterfront on Lake Champlain offers
usage of the city's bike path, beaches, and relaxation in front of the
sunset! Burlington is minutes away from the mountains for easy access
to hiking, camping, and skiing.
