Jeffords Hall

James M. Jeffords Hall

Construction of the new plant science building will meet the pressing demands for state-of-the-art laboratory and teaching facilities to advance the University of Vermont's world-class teaching and research activity in the plant sciences.

Located on the eastern edge of campus next to the Davis Center, this 83,000 square-foot building will be LEED certified, a model of energy efficiency.

The plant science building has been designed to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and to facilitate the study of plants, from molecular and cell biology to whole plant physiology to ecosystem and global ecology.

The first floor will be devoted to public spaces, teaching laboratories, classrooms, and an agricultural and environmental testing lab. The two top floors will contain research laboratories, facilities and offices.
