Howard Center Substance Abuse Services:
ACT 1/Detox
Located at 184 Pearl Street in downtown Burlington,
Act 1 is a community-based alcohol and drug crisis stabilization and social detoxification program. The program provides 24-hour supervised shelter for clients who are intoxicated and incapacitated by drugs and/or alcohol and who have come to the attention of law enforcement or who are self-referred.

Clinicians provide quality intensive substance abuse counseling to Chittenden County residents ages 18 years and older. Counseling requires a commitment of no less than three days a week/three hours a day. Clients can expect active participation in defining goals for treatment and strict confidentiality. Services are provided weekdays by appointment from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Clients can expect active participation in defining goals for treatment and strict confidentiality. Services are provided weekdays by appointment, Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
