Gordon Robison's career as a journalist specializing in both American politics and Middle East affairs stretches back more than twenty years. Currently a columnist for Gulf News, a daily newspaper published in Dubai, he has served as Baghdad Bureau Chief for the Fox News Channel, worked as a correspondent and field producer reporting from Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq for CNN and taught the history and culture of Islam at Emerson College. He is a recipient of a Certificate of Recognition from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his role CNN's coverage of the events of September 11, 2001. Professor Robison is the author of Lonely Planet's Arab Gulf States guidebook, and a contributor to numerous other Lonely Planet titles onthe Middle East and the United States.
In 2004-2005 he was a Senior Fellow at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Director of the Middle East Media Project at USC's Center for Public Diplomacy.
