Professor Burgin specializes in Congress, and has served as a professional staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives. She publishes primarily in the area of Congress, health policy, and foreign policy. Her publications appear in such journals as the Journal of Health Politics, Policy, and Law, Politics and the Life Sciences, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Polity, Political Behavior, Congress and the Presidency, and the Journal of Legislation, as well as in such books as Congress Reconsidered and Congress Resurgent. Her current research project focuses on the recently passed health care reform bill.
