Professor Greene received his PhD and MA in international relations form the University of Pennsylvania and BA with a major in history and political science from Bates College. Specializing in international development, he has worked in the public, academic, and private sectors. After serving as an UN Volunteer with the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya, he became a budget and program officer at the U.S. Agency for International Development where he wrote the Agency’s programming policies and procedures, assisted the Secretary of State with major foreign assistance reforms, and liaised between the Budget Office and the Latin America and Caribbean Bureau. Professor Greene taught international relations in European overseas programs for Boston University and Troy University. He has also taught at Keene State College, West Virginia University, and Mercer University. He has written numerous articles and government reports, many of which were presented at professional meetings. Professor Greene’s current research is identifying alternatives to neoliberal-led international development.
