The Extension/Education Mission
The Proctor Maple Research Center and UVM Extension enjoy a close working relationship. This relationship provides an essential link between University research and the public through a wide range of educational opportunities. Students of all ages have visited the Proctor Center, from first graders who have never been inside a sugarhouse to undergraduate and graduate level college students pursuing advanced research questions. In addition we provide advice and education for maple producers both young and old who are seeking information for use in their own sugaring operations. The Proctor Maple Research Centerís education mission reaches members of the maple industry through presentations at various maple meetings, many of which are hosted by UVM Extension, as well as through printed material and one-on-one communication.
