2013 CAS Dean's Staff Awards

The College of Arts and Sciences annual Staff Recognition Luncheon was held on Tuesday, October 8, in the Livak Ballroom at the Davis Center. As part of that event, Dean Antonio Cepeda-Benito had the pleasure of announcing the winners of the 2013 Dean’s Staff Awards for Superior Performance.
Michael J. Hamblin, Physics Department Scientific Equipment Technician, was chosen to receive the Award for Superior Technical Support. Candace L. Smith, Administrative Assistant in the Department of Political Science, received the Award for Superior Administrative Support. These awards recognize outstanding effort and achievement in the support of the mission of the College. Each award winner receives a cash award of $250 from the Dean’s office and has his or her name engraved on a commemorative plaque displayed in the reception area of the Dean’s office.
Special commendations were also given to Kelly Dutra (Music and Dance), Salli Griggs (Sociology), Srebrenka Mrsic (Geology), Angela Gatesy (Chemistry), and Paul Decausemacker (Art and Art History).

At the luncheon the following staff members who are celebrating milestone years at UVM were also recognized: 10 years: Mark Hall (Dean’s Office), Sarah Helmer (Dean’s Office), Sally Knight (Dean’s Office), Lori Jean (Philosophy), and Kathleen Truax (History); 15 years: Katherine Layton (English); 25 years: Libby Dunbar (Dean’s Office), Lise Larose (Dean’s Office), Sally Wales (Art and Art History), and Bruce O’Rourke (Chemistry); 30 years: Patrick Orr (Theatre).
