Focused on Food

Systems, myths, & animations

This time of year, with the official start of Fall days away, it is a good idea to be mindful about the food that fuels us. Included in this issue, are articles about food - its social life, myths surrounding specific food items, and even a cool animation about sustainable food systems work here at UVM. There is plenty of food for thought here.

Happy Fall,
Amanda, Gail, Jen, John, Juliana, Rachel, Roman & Ross

Bisexuality DaySeptember 23 is Bisexuality Visibility Day. Check out this website for information on events worldwide. If you are looking for something at UVM check out Free2Be's meeting at 8PM for their annual "Condoms & Cupcakes" event or Queer People of Color's brownbag lunch in the Unity Lounge on Wednesday, September 25.

Or check out R.U.12?'s (Burlington's LGBTQ Community Center) events page for ways to celebrate.

Apartment Essentials:

We are big fans of Apartment Therapy, though you can get lost in their collection of great articles - so be careful. Since this is an issue about food, we thought you might want to learn what to do with your food scraps once you've prepared and eaten your healthy meal. Here is a link to "All About Composting: Hot Tips, Best Bins, and WORMS!".
