November Break & Beyond

Things to Remember

Break is here and for most people it could not have come a moment too soon. While taking a break from the academic rigors of UVM is something we look forward too, it is also the case that it can be a time of great stress. Dealing with difficult family dynamics, unprocessed grief from our recent campus tragedy, and anxiety about what awaits us after break can cause a flurry of emotional/physical responses.

Because of that, this newsletter is focused on helping our community deal with all of these complex issues. There are always resources available to you - whether on or off campus, whether in-person or online. We share resources you can use yourself or for friends who show signs that they are struggling.

We wish you all a healthy, safe and rejuvenating break!

Meditation or Yoga

Chose your flavor of end-of-semester-stress-reducing-fun. The Center for Health and wellbeing has a variety of groups, classes, and one time events that will help you stay grounded during exams. They even have stuff you can do ONLINE when you only have a few minutes. I recommend the Breathing Space mediation (only 3 minutes) or if you have the time Loving Kindness meditation (16 minutes). There are a lot of great options - check out their page. They also have counselors available if you need a little more support.
