Welcome to the University of Vermont. Before departing China for the Summer Bridge program and your studies at UVM, here are some things you should know:

Medical and dental care

You should plan to obtain required immunizations in China. Any immunizations you receive in the United States will be very expensive. Learn about immunizations, medical and dental care while at UVM and prescriptions. Read more.

Consider computing needs

UVM's Computer Depot carries personal computers from Apple and Dell at competitive educational prices. We are a not-for-profit University department devoted exclusively to the needs of students, faculty and staff. You'll find many advantages in purchasing your computer through UVM. Read more.

Mobile/laptop computer requirement for business students: Business school graduates are expected to be proficient in the use of information technology. To support this goal, all students enrolled in the School of Business Administration at the University of Vermont are required to own a portable computer. The school charges a non-refundable per semester fee to provide students with technical support and current versions of business software. Read more.

Travel

Arrival date: You should arrive on May 25, 2013. The University of Vermont will arrange for transportation from the airport to the university campus. Campus housing is NOT available, so please do not arrive before May 25, 2013.

Booking your travel: Please check with your Kaplan student services staff in China to see if they are assisting with your travel arrangements. You will fly into Burlington International Airport. The airport code is BTV and it is located only a few minutes by car from the campus. Several major airlines serve the Burlington airport through other major American hubs including JetBlue, Delta, USAir, Continental, Northwest and United.
