major capital construction projects since the beginning of 2005.

visitor-related expenditures within the Vermont economy.

THE NUMBERS

Fall 2008 student enrollment
increased to 12,800 undergraduate, graduate, medical,
post-baccalaureate, and non-degree students from 50 states and over 40
foreign countries.

The University’s eight schools and
colleges offer 97 bachelors, 54 masters, and 23 doctoral
programs, including the doctor of medicine.

Employment of 1,359 faculty
and 2,418 staff, a total of 3,777 employees, makes the University
Vermont’s fourth largest employer.

Almost 28,000 (30%) of the
University’s 93,000 alumni live in Vermont and contribute to
their state and local communities.
