On this page, you'll find the forms to apply to participate in this year's Next Step (2010) retreat or to let someone know about Next Step! Each form has its own date of availability and deadline as indicated below. If you have any questions regarding the forms, please email The Next Step Advisory Committee. Also if you cannot access the application materials for any reason, please contact the Department of Student Life at 656-2060.

Please refer to the time line for information regarding facilitator and participant selection. Applying to take part in Next Step (facilitator or participant) requires a significant time commitment (including before the retreat). Please visit the Facilitator or Participant sections of the website for more information on scheduled dates for the fall 2009 and spring 2010.
A small team of Next Step alumni will take part in the selection process for both facilitators and participants for the retreat.
Please note that any member of the UVM community can apply to facilitate for Next Step, however we are diligent in making sure facilitators already have a certain set of skills regarding facilitation, group management, and an understanding of social justice work. The rest of the criteria for facilitators varies each year, but we generally look for:
Please note that any member of the UVM community can apply to participate for Next Step. While this is heavily an undergraduate student experience, we know that this experience can be critical for graduate students, staff and faculty as well. Therefore, we consider spots for graduate students, faculty and staff when we lack enough students to fill all spots on the retreat. The criteria for participants also varies each year, but we generally look for the following:
