Funding News

August 2010: We've received a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in Neuroscience Pilot Grant for 2010-2011 to investigate the role of PACAP in the anxiety-like behavioral consequences of chronic stress.

July 2008: Professor Hammack received a Young Investigator Award from NARSAD to investigate the role of 5-HT7 receptors in learned helplessness.

November 2008: We've received a grant (R21) from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to examine the neurophysiological and neuropharmacological correlates of the anxiolytic effects of voluntary exercise. This grant involves a collaboration with Bill Falls, also in the Department of Psychology

December 2008: We've received news that an internal grant (Research Opportunities Grant Program) that involves a collaboration wtih Victor May in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology (medical school) and Matthias Brewer in the Department of Chemistry has been awarded. The projects in this grant are designed to investigate how PACAP-related pharmacological agents modulate anxiety-like behavior.
