Photos of Field Biology
By Noel Dodge
Greetings! Welcome to my page of
field jobs. I designed this
page to share photos I have taken while in the field on various field
Biology
jobs since graduating from The University of Vermont with a degree in
Wildlife
Biology. I was given a digital camera in 2003 and as you will see I
have put it
to good use over the last six years. I am now on my third camera.
Photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix
885, 3.2
megapixles, Fujifilm S5200, and finally a Fujifilm S9000. The new
camera has taken many of my 06/07 Bobcat photos as well as all the
Buzzards Bay pics..
-Red text indicates an addition to a
page. I will try to keep working on adding photos as well as pages for
previous jobs.
....:::Mini Blog:::....
- Nov 11 2008: Added Hawkwatch 2006 gallery
- May 7 2008: Finally
got around to updating. Created page for Puffin Project. Go check it
out. Still a work in progress but the pictures and video are up, just
some formatting left to do, uploading and creating pages is a pain in
the ass!!!!
- April 24 2008: Quick
update on my adventures....(sorry no new pics yet) Suzanne and I
traveled to Washington state in January to work for Washington State
Fish and Game as salmon surveyers for the month of February. Basically
we interviewed every salmon fisherman (Chinook) at our designated
launch ramps and scanned any fish they caught for CWT (Coded Wire Tags)
and collected the heads of salmon in which we found them. The season
was only for hatchery salmon which is where they got the tags. After
the season was over we stayed in WA opting not to drive back to VT (gas
prices) untill we got a job and lo and behold we scored a sweet gig in
Alaska! We will be leaving for the North Slope in late May to study
shorebirds in the Oil Fields. You can learn more about the project here
Wildlife Conservation Society Arctic Project and here Western Arctic Alaska: Opportunity for Conservation. I found a cool map of Alaskas sea surfave temp on the NOAA site; check it out.

December 02 2007: Ok I finally got around to updating this
thing, it has been a while. I started with an update to the Bobcat
page, loading up all my pictures from the 06/07 season. Next up will my
second season in the Goshutes (killer Golden eagle pics) and
then
photos from Maine. That will be a major undertaking as I have a ton of
pics, so please be patient! Thanks, enjoy!
