Description: Faculty Scholarship Concert. Please join the Music and Dance faculty in their fourth annual scholarship benefit concert. Faculty performers join forces in a variety of solos and ensembles featuring classical music, jazz, and dance.
Contributions to the Yandell Fund provide scholarships to talented UVM students.

Violin and piano recital, Thomas Read and David Feurzeig

Description:
Music for Violin and Piano, from Mozart to Pärt
UVM Violin and Composition Professor Emeritus Thomas L. Read is joined by his successor, composer/pianist David Feurzeig, to perform a dazzling array of violin and piano music from the 18th century to the present. Mozart’s scintillating Sonata in B-flat, K. 454, is sandwiched by two meditative works by the visionary Estonian minimalist composer Arvo Pärt, Fratres and Spiegel im Spiegel. The concert concludes with the rollicking and transcendental Sonata No. 2 by the American modernist pioneer Charles Ives.
Free and open to the public.

A University of Vermont (UVM) Dance Program spring tradition, Dancing Uphill highlights UVM dance student performers in guest artist, faculty, and student choreography. This year, several of the pieces will perform to live music, with special guest appearances by UVM student composers and musicians.
