Music Department faculty members Patricia Julien (flute) and Tom Cleary (keyboards), along with local Burlington musicians Alec Julien (guitar), Joe Englert (bass), and Caleb Bronz (drums), play together as the group Fragile Zoe. Performing groove-oriented instrumental funk and fusion, with original tunes plus pieces by Mike Stern, Bela Fleck, John Scofield, Jeff Lorber, and others, the group will be performing on Thursday, April 1 at Club Metronome (188 Main St., Burlington -- above Nectar's) to celebrate the release of their debut CD, Frame Problem. Beginning at 8:00 PM, the opening act Mandarax will perform, followed by Fragile Zoe from 9:00-11:00 PM. Tickets are $8.00 in advance (Flynn box office or www.Flynntix.org), and $10.00 at the door. It’s powerful precision playing with a soul. Fragile Zoe's debut CD will be available soon at www.cdbaby.com.
