A minor allows students to delve into an area of interest — in this case, music — that is outside the major. Course in the minor are distributed among the fields of music history/literature, music theory, and performance. The minor is declared through use of an on-line form. Minors are not required to take a Level II audition.
Perhaps you came to UVM knowing that you have an interest in taking music courses but not a strong enough inclination to major; perhaps you have a proficiency in a musical instrument or voice but have a greater interest to major elsewhere. Learn more by contacting the Music Office.
