University Concert Band
D. Thomas Toner, conductor, 303 Southwick, Phone: 656-7774, e-mail: d.toner@uvm.edu
The UVM Concert Band is open to all UVM students regardless of major, minor, or college. In fact, in a typical semester, all seven of UVM's undergraduate colleges are represented within the band!
The band performs several concerts each semester both on campus and throughout Vermont and the northeast, as well as performing concerts in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Slovakia. The Concert Band also serves as the "home" of the pep band, which performs at UVM hockey and basketball games. Unfortunately, the university discontinued the football program in the early 1970's, so the Marching Band ceased operation in 1975.
Read the FAQs about the Concert Band rehearsals, performance auditions and more.
Auditions
Each student must take a yearly placement audition for seating. Since these are simply placement auditions, students should register for Band before the audition. View Concert Band audition info.
