Q S Fractal Programs
at the Spanky Fractal Archive.

Noel Giffin has been kind enough to include several of my programs and images at his FTP/WWW site. There is a huge collection of material by him and many others, and you can explore from the top by connecting to the Spanky home page via the above link. The list below contains brief descriptions and direct downloading links to specific programs. They are all written for IBM-compatible PC's. They prefer to run under real-mode DOS, rather than under any GUI environments or quasi-operating systems.

[MSET] CSAMPLE - allows you to investigate/compare any of the quarter-million colors available to palette-based graphics modes by selecting the red, green and blue indices through a key-driven graphic interface.

[MSET] GANYMEDE - interactive program to draw the intriguing attractors from Cliff Pickover's book Chaos in Wonderland.
Download the program or a text file description.

[MSET] PATTERNS - a demo of fractals and other mathematical patterns. Written for an elementary school class, it uses VGA graphics, sacrificing high resolution for maximal availability and minimal disk space. Comes with many GIF's. Has shown appeal for all ages.

[MSET] QSNEWTON - interactive program to draw Newton's method fractals.
Download the program or a text file description.

[MSET] QSVLOTKA - interactive program to draw Volterra-Lotka fractals in the manner of the images in The Beauty of Fractals.
Download the program or a text file description.

[MSET] SYMXAOS - interactive program to draw the images found in Field and Golubitsky's book Symmetry in Chaos. These pictures are really nice. Requires 1024 x 768 x 256 graphics, and without a coprocessor is painfully slow.
Download the program or a text file description.

[MSET] VLOTKATC - a simpler Volterra-Lotka program which uses true-color (24-bit 16-million color) graphics, though it will also do grey-scale and dithered versions in 256-color graphics.
Download the program or a text file description.
