Undergraduate Membership Application Guidelines

Please write a short essay, no less than one page, explaining why you would like to be a member of the University of Vermont (UVM) Chapter of the Material Research Society (MRS). Space for undergraduates is limited, so applicants should have research experience in a field related to Materials Science. Essays should be saved in PDF format and submitted via e-mail to mrsuvm@uvm.edu. In the e-mail subject bar, write ?Undergraduate Admission Form?.

Essay Guidelines

Please include at the top of your essay, your name, major, and expected graduation date.

The body of your essay should address the following key points:

• Who is your Research Advisor?
• What is your undergraduate research project and how is it related to the field of Materials Science?
• Why do you want to join the UVM Chapter of the MRS?
• How would membership in the UVM Chapter of the MRS benefit your future academic and career goals?
