Climate

Singapore has an equatorial climate and is warm and humid all year round. It is important to note that the humidity of the Sungei Buloh Park does not approach that of inland forests, since it is more exposed to wind. Rainfall does occur throughout the year though. Singapore experiences two distinct monsoon seasons. From December to March is the wetter Northeast Monsoon season, and the drier Southwest Monsoon season is from June to September. The Southwest Monsoon season is the driest part of the year. In the months between the monsoon seasons, winds are light and variable.  Afternoon and early evening thunder showers are common in this inter-monsoon period. Singapore does not experience monsoons that are as extreme as in many local areas; even during the Northeast Monsoon season it will be sunny much of the time. Regional ocean currents follow the wind patterns of the monsoons.
