Lorelei still hates tummy time, and isn't that fond of back time either. She rolls from tummy to back, but only on high pressure days, if the sun is just about to set, and it's an even numbered day.. I think she's done it 5 times. Mostly she just eats her blanket and cries. She used to roll to the side on her back, but I think her butt got too big. ;-)
She loves to sit up, but topples over within a minute or two. She's too fat for the bumbo, unfortunately (argh! I took some cute nakey butt pictures and will post them soon). Elliott easily fit at 2 1/2, so maybe she'll slim down. She loves to sit up against me, and play with toys piled at her feet. She likes to stand, but always puts her feet together and topples over in no time. She LOVES watching Elliott dance, sing or play tag with Mike. She cracks up hysterically at patty-cake and loves it every time. Bouncing her up and down and singing nonsense songs will also throw her into hysterics (my favorite is a home-spun ditty called "don't shake the baby" ;-). She's starting to grab at things, like the cup in my hand (luckily my tea is always cold by the time I remember to drink it- sigh), the keyboard, her brother's hair. Now that mine is short, she uses it as a handle/reins, and holds on when I'm walking around.
Her hands are almost always in her mouth. Her bottom teeth are really close to coming through, though it doesn't seem to bother her. She hardly ever spits up anymore (she was the queen of spitting up for the first 4 months or so). She still loves watching shadows on the wall, and looking at her high contrast mobile. She loves the sling, esp. for sleeping, and nurses in it well too. She enjoys munching on the fabric when she can get it. She wakes up talking every day - I have to scoop her up and literally run out of the room if I don't want Elliott to wake up, because she will not stop talking to the ceiling fan!
She's getting so big that she can swing her baby swing herself. If I put her in it (sometimes when I just need to eat dinner before I put her down for the night, and she's grumpy, she'll be happy in the swing while Elliott dances around and I eat). When she sees a toy on the tray, she lifts both arms up, and pounces them down like a cat, which causes the whole swing to start swinging - really hard! She's really too big for it. She loves her exersaucer here and there. I call it "getting saucy". ;-) She's not fond of the jumpy thing yet, but she really doesn't know how to jump. She likes the big kid swing that we set up in the basement though - we start it going and play ping pong in front of her - great fun.
She just started liking being tipped backwards and then brought back up, and bring lifted into the air airplane style. Those things scared her even a week ago, but now she laughs.
