oh, just a bib?

balls.. balls.. how can I get them out of here?

Cute! Gotta love the first few years, when parents can dress their kids in ridiculous outfits without their consent. It's cute now, but what will they think when they're 30? :-)

Look Nana! Balls!

modelling the crumb catching bib

Elliott always stops to smell the flowers

After hours of separating and draping Jess' papers over everything to dry.. ugh.

Lorelei enjoys a bagel at the Village Cup, waiting for Elliott to finish his last day of preschool for the year (it was cold and drizzly, and I was too busy trying not to cry, so I didn't get any pictures of his actual last day, sorry!)

Elliott makes "pretend soup" with the rest of Lorelei's bagel - ugh!

Lorelei finally figures out how to climb onto the tippy swivelling rocking chair - uh oh! Boy is she thrilled!

Gotcha!

Elliott discovered a huge population of gypsie moth catepillars, and built a little house for them with pine cones and playground debris

Lorelei enjoying a yummy cookie from Grandma

Hey, these are pretty good!

Elliott shows his friends

enjoying the sun

I oscillated between feeling sorry for the catepillars and trying not to break the news that they're pests, and most of us squish them with impunity..

Grumpy boy

ah, that's better!

it was THIS big!

looking casual..

We are driven in by a huge downpour, but minutes later and with dry clothes, they're back out

last picture of the day - not bad! (we had assembled the rock wall and the steps in the basement the week before)

Within MINUTES of arriving for Jaime and Sabrina's wedding, Elliott runs into a grassy field and falls, grass staining a knee, picks up fistfuls of sand and trickles them over his shirt, pants and into his shoes, and slides on his butt into a drainage ditch. Never again will this kid wear khaki pants to any formal function!

boy discovers boy

Lorelei looking pretty, and determined to NEVER let me get her looking at the camera and in-focus at the same time.. sigh!

Wendy and Ryan looking adorable

grass, oh!

breezy day

the wedding party.. just a coincidence that Lorelei coordinated. :-)

Mike in a tie! Amazing!

Cute if it were in focus, and if I hadn't cut off her head.. sigh!

I think this is the best picture I got.. she was cute, trust me

Sabrina looking beautiful

we tried to get a photo of the kids sitting on a bench. Alas, the sun was in Elliott's eyes, and Lorelei HAD to stand up. oh well!

see? see the smile? yes, I did ask him to stop tackling the other children. Really, I've never seen him act like this before! Honest!

Quack.

Baah.

I can't even begin to spell the sound this peacock made, but it was eerie!

more baah.

ooh!

and a pony too! (horse?)

frowny grumpus. Man do we see a lot of this expression! What was upsetting him? How long it was taking them to cut the wedding cake - the thing he'd been waiting for ALL DAY.

Aww, that's our cute boy, even with clashing handmedown bow tie! (he really wanted to be "fancy" like Dada)

spiffy tent, gorgeous day (minus black flies)

Mike finally figures out how to keep track of Elliott

cutting the cake..

the animals get fed

our cute couple (aw, poor Jaime got bitten!)

Yay! (blurry, but otherwise endearing)

Lorelei and Jess involuntarily dancing to some 80s song as Elliott bops her bum and makes her laugh

ok, this HAS to be the worst wedding picture EVER!

Elliott in heaven, downs the entire chocolate cake

yum yum yum yum yum

Lorelei trying her hand at a game

Is she actually trying to get me to fall asleep?

it would have worked too!

a wedding wouldn't be complete without he macarena! (apologies if I misspelled that one)

Elliott explored the lodge and finally ended up in a sauna (not on, luckily for him since he had to touch the rocks and pick up the ladle). Whew! I think this is just about the last wedding we'll be going to for a while with this kiddo.
