Lorelei is looking more and more like Elliott at this age!

After preschool, we walked down to the river (Mike had the day off)

Cool rocks

Elliott climbing cool rocks

Mike trying not to have a heart attack about Elliott climbing cool (slippery) rocks

a pool of stagnant water - aren't you glad I took a picture of this?

Looking for frogs, fish and other neat things

Elliott climbing down to join Mike at the waterfall

Wee! Elliott's a little freaked out by the rushing water, but will touch it with Mike holding him

a beautiful day.. hard to believe it'll be snowing in a few months

Grandma and Grandpa dropped off some goegeous zinnias from their garden. Elliott befriended them and talked to them every day. He's sad that they are "getting old"

Elliott with his friends

They are each a little different.. this one looks like it has some stars in the center

Help.. can't sleep.. shirt too loud...

the picture of innocence.. not.

Elliott's buddy experimenting with paint

"it's harder to take off than to put on"

ok, let's try that again..

Elliott swamp monster

Elliott as Yurtle

snacking on some sorrel

I told Elliott he was a pumpkin.. and this was the result. We incidentally let him draw on our bellies, but we decided we didn't need pictures of those masterpieces.

Master Chef Elliott preparing "Stale Soup" - as I clean out the pantry and toss old stale tea, cereal, etc.

stirring..

Fiona doing quality control testing on Meg's quilt.. only the best for Babe

Lorelei modelling a small Kushies fitted diaper

laughing at "patty cake"

Ray and Elizabeth come for the weekend.. Ray wastes no time in befriending Elliott

That's a tall tower!

We visit a local apple orchard - this is a giant tower of morning glories

peering into the apple cider maker

Elizabeth meditates

Elliott leads the way to the orchard

oooh.. almost!

Lorelei demonstrating a perfect pout. You can try the apples next year.

"there's a baby slug in this one!"

getting it out

Elizabeth reaching for a nice big one

We catch the tractor pulled hay ride back up the hill with our stash. Elizabeth smugly polishes off an apple.

Elliott watches a bunch of boys have a hay throwing fight, while an older girl tries to boss them around and tell them to stop.

Not in such a photogenic mood. Oh well.

Elizabeth and Elliott have fun rearranging the hanging chair

Jim and Tracy come over for impromptu burritos with Xnipec ("Shnee-peck"), a habenero pepper based salsa that is hotter than heck. Later we make apple pies and goof off with a whole ton of ping pong.
