Christmas day, 2005

Elliott opening his stocking on Christmas morning (while we frantically pack our clothes)

Hey, why did you get all those cool toys, and I just got baby food and a bib?a

rip.. rip.. rip..

OK, it is a cool bib, and there is a toy on it, but still..

ooh! Lorelei likes Aunt Renee's necklace

Aunt Ellen has an amazingly sparkly shirt, but it's not so soft!

Elliott having grumpy moment after grumpy moment.. we should have just stayed home, but we had no idea how sick he would get

Lorelei was enchanted by the nutcracker pull toy

Poor Elliott is sacked out on Mike with a fever.. we found out later he and Lorelei both had double ear infections from their bad colds

Alas, Renee's charm is not limitless. Lorelei was a good sport for a sick girl with a very short nap, but finally needs some Mama time

Nana/Memere enjoys a breather, while poor miserable Elliott whines about something or other to Dada

Lorelei's a little cozier in the sling

Lorelei loves my cousin's electronic barking puppies
visiting after Christmas

"how I spent my Christmas vacation" - blowing nose.. sigh.

divine babe

not too crazy about being bundled up and brought outside in the sun

Inside is fun! She loves Aunt Ellen

another too-big-too-small suit (mostly too big)

Home again, Home again, Jiggety Jig!

Lorelei checks out her cool cube from Memere and Pepere

Mama's little baby like shortening bread! (special christmas treat)

ooh! Lorelei has a special place in her heart for the Tivo remote

doing the leg pinwheel - a micro-step toward crawling

Babe is Babe

ride 'em, cowboy!

happy girl

err, elephant boy.. Elliott loves his rocking elephant that Grandpa Dan made for him

I know this is normally a private activity, but she's just too cute! (just woke up here - she's been using the potty routinely since I tried it for the first time around 5 months)

oooh! Elliott's gift from us - truck kid k'nex, what he wanted. He loves the bug k'nex he got last year from aunt Debbie's family.. Now he can make bugs on trucks. what could be finer?

Lorelei likes them too

hard at work

The angels try parenthood again, but ultimately eat the eggs. Bummer. We had free-swimming fry for about a week, and then they all disappeared. I do feed them, I don't know what their problem is! We need to separate the parents and eggs and raise them ourselves, but I don't even have time to water plants right now, so as far as I'm concerned, they're just going to have periodic caviar for a while until our life calms down
New Years Eve, and gift swap with the Wellmans

Rachel with Lorelei on her first New Years Eve

Lorelei likes Rachel's light ropes

Lorelei enjoying a freeze dried banana chip

George is still a hair taller than Rachel, it seems

Elliott enjoying a shoulder ride, but refusing to smile

Lorelei enjoying a snuggle - aww!

still blissfully immoble

Rachel with her new perfume from Memere and Pepere

Elliott, always eager to help with any gift opening

getting some help with his new truck blocks

just being cute

unwrap? easy for you to say!

Lorelei and Elliott enjoyed many of each other's gifts

oh, soft!

Mike testing the safety of Elliott's new tools

Rachel just has this aura around her..

a special high-speed shutter was needed to film this series - hat on...

stealth hat removal..

hat off! Better eat the hat just to make sure that doesn't happen again!a
