We went downtown and met Paul, Dianne, Vanessa, Rachel and her friend Jen for lunch and some sight seeing.

While waiting to meet, Elliott spotted the fountain. Not exactly the cleanest water.. across the fountain, some guy was washing his flip flops off in the water.. ick.

Can I just get my feet wet? yeah, sure..

Look what I found! (ick ick! I don't want to know! turns out it was just a penny)

"ooooh! ticklish!" (I did draw the line somewhere, insisting that he not stick his entire head under the water)

Who hoo! watch me jump! I do it myself! (he didn't want to hold my hand)

So much for "just getting my feet wet" - luckily I had a complete change of clothes waiting for him.

I don't need help! I climb this rock myself (Paul, knowing just how giving brick is, still spotted).

so casual about it..

Gotcha!

The sidewalk sale was going on on Church St., so Elliott of course had to climb into clothing racks.. "mama, find me!"

Another fun and hectic week. We really enjoyed visiting with Paul, Dianne and Vanessa. The kids both loved the company, and we enjoyed a few very entertaining rounds of ping pong, Mike playing against Vanessa and Dianne. The trip down town was fun and exhausting. I was torn between taking pictures of Elliott bathing in the fountain, and having little pangs of "bad, bad mom!" thinking about the bacteria and other critters inevitably breeding in a shallow pool frequented by dogs and countless feet. We purelled his hands when he got out, and so far he seems to have survived. At least he had a fantastic time, and made lots of passing kids very jealous.

Another week, more window and siding mess. Our workers are doing a great job, but the piles of nails, chunks of wood, insulation and other debris all over the place are wearing on me. Not that I was ever a great housekeeper, but now it seems rather hopeless. We can only mow certain swaths of lawn, because the rest is taken over by equipment and piles of garbage. Oh well, we needed an excuse anyway. Luckily, nobody sees our lawn but us. We'll just be happy if the house looks good and doesn't leak this spring. The whole thing makes condos seem so much more appealing. I'm ready to sell and buy a boat. Sigh.
