Marina Shpaner holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from the City College of New York, where she conducted thesis work on the neurophysiology of visual object processing under the supervision of Drs. Foxe and Molholm. Her undergraduate studies at Cornell University focused on molecular and cell biology. Before graduate school, Marina worked for three years as a research assistant and lab manager at the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, where she performed electrophysiological and neuroimaging recordings in a variety of clinical populations. Marina has extensive expertise in the analysis of EEG data, and is currently developing skills in neuroimaging as part of her post-doctoral training. At MBMC, Marina studies functional and structural neuroplasticity following psychotherapeutic interventions for patients with chronic pain and mild concussion.
