MindBody Medicine Clinic
Nina La Rosa, MS
I hold a BA in Psychology and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont, and I am a Nationally Certified Counselor. My undergraduate research examined the psychosocial sequelae of HIV/AIDS in rural areas under Dr. Sondra Solomon. My graduate research explored diversity issues in graduate counseling programs under Dr. Lance Smith. I have worked at MindBody Medicine Clinic since 2009.
At MBMC, my research responsibilities include collecting and analyzing imaging and behavioral data, and collaborating on grant submissions and publications. Our research focuses on the neuroplastic changes in structure and function of the brain after different psychotherapeutic interventions. I also provide clinical services to patients and research participants including neuropsychological testing, clinical evaluation, individual psychotherapy, and my favorite, mindfulness-based cognitive rehabilitation for people with traumatic brain injury.
My passion is working with people interested in learning mindfulness practice as part of their treatment. Since 2008, I have been a facilitator for mindfulness teacher and Buddhist scholar, Shinzen Young. I feel fortunate to be able to combine my many interests in my work at MBMC.
