Biography

Patricia was born in 1944 in Lansing Michigan. Patricia lived on a farm with her mother and Grandparents until she was five.  In 1949, her Babushka (what she called her grandmother) died. “I must say that living on that little farm with them was the most magical time of my life...and that my Babushka and other grandparents were some of the most inspirational people in my life,” Patricia said.

As a child, Patricia struggled in school.  She had trouble with mathematics and reading.  She didn’t learn to read until she was 14.  She didn’t let this learning disability stop her from getting her PHD in art history, which shows her ambition and determination. She didn’t start writing until she was 41.  She then realized that she had a talent for writing. Many of the stories that Patricia wrote were memories from her childhood.  Not only has she written over 30 books, but she has illustrated all of them as well!  Many of her picture ideas came from her favorite childhood books and inspirations such as Norman Rockwell.

Patricia currently lives in Union City Michigan and is a mother of two.  Even though she is a busy mother she still finds time to write her stories.
