‘fart’ in the concrete.”

Self-Evaluation:

I
found this project interesting. It
enabled me to learn about an alternative way I can get information out to my
students. Once we got started, designing
the webquest was fun, even though it took a while! I learned a great deal about Barbara Park
while doing this assignment, and had never realized she had written so many
books! I had never heard of webquests prior
to this assignment and find them highly valuable in the classroom. It allows students to learn on their own,
navigating their way around the website, a very useful experience for this
technological age. Gathering the
information also allowed me to see the various websites that are available for
literacy. The web is a great resource
and this assignment opened my eyes to really how much information there is on
the website that a teacher can use. I
look forward to having the students in my class participate in my webquest!

I thought that the webquest was a great project because it
not only
gets
teachers thinking and using technology but it also gives students a chance
for
hands-on work with computers. It incorporates reading and aloows student to
use
many strategies based on Gardener's theory of multi-intelligences. I
think
that the webquest could easiliy be incorporated in any classroom unit, or
theme.
I learned a lot about Barbara Park as well as how to create a
connecting,
thematic unit based on an author. I would definately reccomend that
many
classroom teachers use the web quest in their classroom.
