Here are some events from UVM's recent past that we thought were important enough to document with multimedia and highlight on our website.
Richard Lusimbo at UVM
On March 20th 2013, we were honored to invite Richard Lusimbo to give a talk on Uganda's Anti-Homosexuality Bill and the situation for LGBTQ people in Uganda. Since 2011, Richard has been the Research Manager for Sexual Minorities Uganda, which is LGBTI umbrella organization that works toward advancing protection and respect of sexual orientation and gender identity rights in Uganda. SMUG is currently involved in the court case SMUG v. Scott Lively, in which SMUG is suing Mr. Lively for his involvement in the persecution of LGBTQ people in Uganda, including the creation of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill. We recorded Richard's talk to make it available on this page. You can stream the talk below, or download it as an MP3.
