Student Legal Services (SLS) is a student run organization, funded by the Student Government association, which aids students on campus with legal problems. Legal counsel is provided by two attorneys from the prominent Burlington law firm of Blodgett, Watts and Volk, P.C., whose services SLS retains.
The areas of law SLS specializes in include landlord/tenant matters, criminal law, civil law, consumer fraud, academic dishonesty, and the academic disciplinary process. We maintain an office in the SGA office in Billings, with a staff of 10-15 interns per semester. Legal advice is provided free of charge to all UVM students.
If you are interested in a consultation, take a look at our F.A.Q. for more information on how SLS provides its services

today's web editor is garrett martin: gbmartin@zoo.uvm.eduSince Student Legal Services represents all students equally, we cannot assist in any cases involving a student with a claim against another student. We offer consultations and assistance, however SLS does not provide the same services a paid attorney would. If this is what you require we can refer you to a local attorney to fulfill these needs.
