SI Leader Job Description
Basic Role:
To provide academic assistance to students in traditionally
challenging courses by offering regularly scheduled study sessions
throughout the semester.
Required Duties:
- Attend Supplemental Instruction Leader training session
- Attend all class meetings of selected course
- Act as a model student
- Schedule and conduct 50-minute study sessions each week
- Hold office hours each week
- Prepare materials and plan each session
- Make in-class announcements and distribute surveys
- Maintain contact with course professor
- Enter hours worked online
- Collect and submit contact data for ALL SI sessions
- Submit Work Summary Report
Minimum Qualifications:
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A grade of B+ or higher in selected course.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
Wages:
- Starting wage is $9.00/hour*
- ($9.75/hour if using workstudy)*
