SI Leader Job Description

Basic Role:

To provide academic assistance to students in traditionally challenging courses by offering regularly scheduled study sessions throughout the semester.

Required Duties:

  • Attend Supplemental Instruction Leader training session
  • Attend all class meetings of selected course
  • Act as a model student
  • Schedule and conduct 50-minute study sessions each week
  • Hold office hours each week
  • Prepare materials and plan each session
  • Make in-class announcements and distribute surveys
  • Maintain contact with course professor
  • Enter hours worked online
  • Collect and submit contact data for ALL SI sessions
  • Submit Work Summary Report

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • A grade of B+ or higher in selected course.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.

Wages:

  • Starting wage is $9.00/hour*
  • ($9.75/hour if using workstudy)*
