Summer Writing Tutors, 2009

Looking for a writing tutor this summer? Unfortunately, the Writing Center is closed until September 2009. However, several of the tutors are in Burlington over the summer and can be hired as private writing tutors. This would not be connected with the University of Vermont; you and the tutor would decide on the appropriate pay and on a place to meet.

At the UVM Writing Center, you can work with students from a variety of disciplines who are experienced writers and trained writing tutors.

Our Philosophy:

We see the Writing Center as a place for collaboration between students, a place where peer tutors help students help themselves. This process happens mostly through conversation, so we try to create a comfortable, confidential and intellectually stimulating atmosphere --- a place of thought. We hope this collaborative process results not only in better papers but also in better writers.
