English 21: Assigned Notebook Questions

When you first subscribe to the list, send a message which gives your name, campus address, home address, local phone number, and briefly introduces yourself to the rest of the class.

Each response should fill at least one screen. Your answer to these questions should be posted to the list no later than Friday of the week assigned. The server dates your messages, so you canŐt fudge on these.

Week 1: Using either Netscape or Mosaic, explore the Labyrinth (http://www.georgetown.edu/labyrinth/Virtual_Library/Medieval_Studies.html) areas on Anglo-Saxon culture. Describe what you find there and then discuss how this material increases your understanding of Beowulf.

Week 3: How do you think Chaucer wants us to feel about the Wife of Bath?

Week 4: Explore the Adam and Eve section of the Brit Lit web page. What recurring images do you see in the visual representations of the Fall? How are these reflected in the Creation Plays?
