Students are expected to attend all classes, to read the assigned texts thoroughly and critically, and to participate in class discussions. While attendance does not constitute a specific percentage of the final grade, your overall pattern of attendance will be taken into consideration when your final grade is determined.

Written requirements include a quiz on Buddhist terms, an in-class midterm examination, and a final take-home examination. In addition, you are required to keep a journal throughout the semester which will include your reflections on the readings and in-class assignments. All written requirements, including the journal, must be submitted in order to pass the course.
