Reading Response

In the reading responses this semester we read and responed to articles relating to the integration of technology in education.  After reading the articles we were given leading questions to get us to consider the arguements and points made in the articles.  I found many of these articles helpful in getting me thinking of ways and the implementation of technology into the classroom.

Also many of the articles instructed us on how to deal with problems with technology.  On the bottom left is my response to an article written about how the Holocaust never actually existed.  Within this though, we learned way to determine ways of evaluating internet sites for their authenticity and accuracy.  I found this very helpful as we continue to get more and more information off the web.

Although I benifited from reading the articles the best part of this was reading what others in my group had to say about the articles they read.  We don't get to hear what other students think enough in school and this gave us a way to show each other what we thought.  I found that tons of great ideas and questions were raised by my piers and classmates.

All the while doing these discussions we were also learning to use Teacher's Workplace without really realizing it.  Again, it killed two birds with one stone.  Responses and discussions like these are important at any level of education.  I'll certainly have plenty of discussion and debate in my history classes and if class time is constrained as it often is; I'll just set up some discussions on the web for my students to do out of class.
