Geology Internship
This internship involves 6 weeks of summer field work  with geologists Jon Kim, Margie Gale, and Lawrence Becker from the Vermont Geological Survey in Waterbury. The internship comes with a generous stipend of up to $2400. In addition, interns earn research credit (GEOL 197, 198), fulfill the advanced field requirement (GEOL 201), and have an opportunity to present their results at a professional meeting and participate in publications.

Projects typically combine field mapping with other analyses, including structural geology, petrography,
geochemistry,analysis of topographic data, GIS analysis, well logging, environmental hazard assessment.

Prerequisites
Third-year (Junior) geology major at UVM 
GEOL 101 and GEOL 110 courses
Willingness to conduct an independent research project in the Fall and Spring semesters.
