Vermont Men's Team at the NCAA Regonal
DEANE SETS NEW MEET RECORD
--January 26th Senior Captain George Deane set a new meet record in route
to winning the 1000 meter title at the Northeastern Husky Invitational.
Deane came within one half second of his own school record posting a time
of 2:26.80. He easily pulled away from the field at 300 meters and went
on to victory by over 2 seconds. Deane the defending conference champion
in the 1000M is off to a fast start this season. He has already posted
personal bests in the 3000M(8:30.09) and the Mile(4:14.98).[Continued] |
CATAMOUNTS OPEN SEASON SEPTEMBER 15th.
--August 1sth The University of Vermont's Men's and Women's Cross Country
teams open the season at Fraklin Park in Boston. The meet is hosted
by Boston University and will be run on the NCAA Northeast Regional course.
The Men will run 8 Kilometers and the Women 5. Vermont looks to improve
upon last years finish of 3rd in the America east for the women and 5th
for the men. Pacing the women in 2001 will be Sophomore Michele Palmer
who wast the 14th fastest freshman and the NCAA [continued]
