TrackStar is a multipurpose free website: Teachers can use this website as a starting point for online lessons and activities or access those shared by others. Simply collect Web sites, enter them into TrackStar, add annotations for your students, and you have an interactive, online lesson called a Track. Create your own Track or use one of the hundreds of thousands already made by other educators. Other useful tools include:

RubiStar is a rubric maker to help you make your own rubrics or view those made by other educators

QuizStar is a new tool in the TrackStar suite. You can create quizes for your class and have them graded and managed online in a secure site. The program will even print reports. You will need a separate account but its still all free.

Worksheet Wizards provides a template to create an easy online webpage for your students or yourself..
 
PortaPortal provides free space to post your favorite web links. You can create different categories of links (science, language arts, brain teasers...etc.) You can customize your layouts and colors and create your own login and password and share this with anyone you wish to access your site. -provided by Kristen Courcelle from Underhill Elementary School.
Filamentality is another online resource for creating online web pages. Educators can make web pages that create hotlinks, scrapbooks, webquests and other online resources for their students. Templates and tutorials guide you through the process.  Online free space remains for at least a year and if you log in during that time, it is extended another 12 months.
Seating Chart is in a PDF format and included to help you remember who's who in your classes.
Meeting Wizard is an online free tool that facilitates the arrangement of meetings.
Calculator's online center offers a number of customizable calculators to fit all your needs.
TuCows is a resource with all kinds of software for educators and others. Mac and Windows versions are available. All software is rated so you have a sense of its value.
Microsoft Teacher Templates lets you download forms, awards, and letters to make it easier to communicate with parents.
Atomic Learning is the place to find quicktime instructional videos on how to use application software for Macs and PCs. A generous number are free although to access all resources, a subscription fee is required.  Their Curriculum Tools are also useful and offer lesson plans and Storyboard Pro, a tool to help students and teachers plan multimedia projects.
Zoomerang lets you create and administer online surveys. Sign up for a free account that has most of the features of the not for free tool- provided by Pam Holley from  Mt Anthony Middle School
Surveymonkey let you create online surveys or quizzes for free. You can create all your own questions and different stules of questions (multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, essay questions, etc. and the data is compiled for you.

Think.com is a site provided by Oracle and offers free webspace and e-mail to educators.

TUX  Paint is a free online drawing program where your students can post their work.

KidsDomain provides downloads of freeware, shareware and demos of lots of programs. Software reviews are also included and encouraged.
  Video Placement Worldwide provides free videos and print materials for permanent loans to educational institutions at all levels. Six weeks delivery is promised.
Science Download giant high resolution science posters from the Wright Science Visualization Lab at Tufts.
  Find Sounds offers an array of sounds and sound effects. Legal and in .aiff, au and as wave, most programs will import them.
  E-School Online's educational games and animations. You can arrange your own classroom to explore different styles or have your students dissect an eye.
Money & Economics
Federal Reserve Comics  can be ordered in classroom quantities to help explain concepts from the story of money to the story of foreign exchange. Twelve stories are available.

Edutopia is a free magazine from the George Lucas Foundation with practical ideas that incorporate best learning practices.
Science and Math Explore Learning is an interactive site to help students learn math and science

Hearing Impaired Students, literature
The Captioned Media Program offers offers over 4,000 free-loan, educational and general-interest open-captioned videos literature  classics. Dvd's are also available just join but membership is free.


The Cartoon Network provides a free CD to educators on Character Education
Middle & HS

Building Homes of our Own is a CD-Rom Simulation on PC's  for middle and highschool students.


P-R Posters provides free Printable 5x7 posters for your classroom. Educational, Inspirational , and famous sayings.


Creative Commons is a non-profit organization that offers copyright information and protection as well as links to non-copyrighted music, photos, and text and lesson plans- provided by Milt Gardner from SVSU

S.C.O.R.E. Cyberguides are a must for any language arts teacher. They are standards-based units of instrction on core works of literature- provided by Kristina Hansen  from Mt. Anthony Middle School

  The Global School House has a number of free resources including some well structured telecommunication projects.
